Primrose ~ Sabhaircín
Language of Flowers: Joy, contentment, new beginnings & rebirth
This sweet pendant features a real Primrose from my garden, picked during the first glimmers of Spring and cast in 925 Sterling silver using precious metal clay.
In Irish folklore Primroses are called Fairy flowers and considered protective against evil and Faerie mischief, a garland of Primroses strung prettily across your threshold or doorstep will prevent them from entering your home especially on May eve when all sorts of shenanigans tend to unfold after dark. Eating a primrose flower was also said to allow you to see the fairies and an especially healthy patch of them growing in a woodland glade or on the banks of a stream was said to be a portal to the fairy world.
The details of each tiny petal are accented with a darkening patina that graduates gently from the centre of the pendant out to the tips of the petals.
The pendant is finished with a 18 inch chains, if you need a different length please just let me know.
Your piece will come packaged safely in one of my beautiful signature gift boxes complete with a thank you card that explains the heritage of the piece and a care instruction card. If you'd like me to include a hand-written note on your behalf, just leave a note in the 'message to seller' box at checkout.
