Is the jewellery handmade? Where is it made?
All the pieces at Ruby Robin are handmade by me, Khrystyna Marriott. I handcraft each piece in my home studio here in Schull in the South of Ireland.
What materials is your jewellery made with?
My pieces are made with real botanicals which I encapsulate in eco-resin, a more sustainable and environmentally friendly alternative to traditional epoxy resins. The metals I use vary and are stated in the listings for each piece but include Sterling silver, 14k gold and bronze plated copper.
Where are the flowers from?
Most of my botanicals come from my own garden here in West Cork as I grow a lot of flowers especially for my work, some are picked where they grow wild on my walks and very occasionally I will see something in a florists that I can’t resist experimenting with too.
Are the flowers inside alive? Won’t they rot eventually?
All my flowers are meticulously dried, pressed and preserved before encapsulating in the resin. This ensures that no further enzymatic degradation occurs once a piece is cast and the flower will last forever. Flower preservation is a craft that I honed over the last eight years however, very occasionally a flower can still change or lose colour over time. Nature is unpredictable and this is an inevitable reality of working with natural materials.
This can usually be prevented by following the care instructions provided below, but if you believe you have properly cared for your piece and it has still changed colour, please don’t hesitate to reach out to me so I can arrange a full refund or replacement for you. My customers happiness is my priority and I will always honor this commitment no matter how long it's been since an order was placed.
How do I care for my jewellery?
As my pieces are made with real botanicals, it’s important to keep them dry and store them away from direct sunlight and heat. It’s also helpful to store sterling silver pieces in a zip-lock bag to avoid tarnishing over time.
If you’d like to polish the resin on your piece, I recommend using a fine cut plastics polish like Novus and a microfiber cloth, buffing with gentle pressure in a circular motion. To clean the resin simply use some warm, soapy water and dry well after. Please feel welcome to reach out to me for more in depth guidance.
Are your earrings hypoallergenic?
All my stud and hook earrings are made with either 925 sterling silver or 14k gold.
What forms of payment do you accept?
I accept secure payment by Paypal, Visa, Visa Electron, Mastercard and American Express through my website. If you are based in Ireland you are also free to send me a postal order, please just get in touch if this is your preference.
How long will my piece take to ship?
Pieces ship within 7 days after order. Please note I only dispatch orders once a week (on Fridays) so if you’re in a hurry to receive an item for a special occasion please reach out first to avoid disappointment.
What company do you ship with? Do you ship internationally?
I ship with the Irish postal service (An Post) with the option of either un-tracked or tracked mail available during checkout. I ship worldwide.
Will I be able to track my shipment?
Most parcels are sent by standard un-tracked mail as default. If you want to be able to track your parcel, please make sure you choose the ‘tracked’ post upgrade during checkout.
What is your return policy?
Returns are available for all pieces within 30 days of receipt, please just return the piece in it’s gift box and ensure it is in it’s original condition. Unfortunately I can’t accept returns on earrings for hygiene reasons.
What if my piece is broken on arrival?
If there is any issue with your order please don’t hesitate to get in touch so I can help. My customers happiness is my number one priority and I have a no quibble policy on replacements and refunds if there any problems with a piece.
Can I get my order gift wrapped?
I don’t offer gift wrapping but my standard packaging includes a lovely gift box and your piece will be wrapped with tissue inside.
Can you make me a custom piece?
I’m afraid I’m not currently taking custom orders.
Can I order a replacement earring?
Yes, if I have the materials I would be happy to make you a replacement. Please just get in touch by email and we can arrange it.
Can I send a gift directly to a friend or loved one?
Absolutely, just make sure to put the right address in during checkout. Please add a message to seller if you’d like me to include a hand-written note on your behalf.
Will a receipt be included in my parcel?
No, all receipts are sent by email.
