This absolutely enchanting real wildflower necklace was made using tiny blue Germander Speedwell blossoms and a few strands of bright green moss, which I gathered under the apple trees in my garden. I then carefully dried them before being encased in a crystal-clear eco resin sphere where they will last a lifetime.
Speedwell (known as Annuallach as Gaeilge, or 'jump up and kiss me' in Munster where I'm from) is considered one of the seven sacred herbs, along with yarrow, vervain, St John's wort, eyebright, mallow and self-heal. When taken as a brew together, these seven magical herbs were thought to protect both people and cattle from the fairies.
With such a sacred status, it was believed that nothing natural or otherwise could harm the humble little Speedwell plant. Traditionally it was sewn in to the clothing of travellers to protect them from mishaps, making this a lovely gift for anyone in need in a bit of luck or who's about to set off on an adventure!
The pendant itself if made of eco resin, the 18 inch long chain is sterling silver and the cap connecting the pendant to the chain is silver-toned alloy.
Your necklace will arrive safely packaged in one of my beautiful signature gift boxes, ready for gift-giving and with no need for further wrapping, the perfect gift for any nature-lover.
Please be aware that there may be some very small bubbles in your necklace. Someone recently described them as resembling little dew drops sitting on the flowers & leaves and I like to think they add their own little touch of life to each piece <3
Please keep your piece dry and store it away from direct sunlight and extreme temperatures. To clean use warm, soapy water. If you would like to polish your piece, use a wax like renaissance wax and a microfibre cloth, polishing in a circular motion.
